Homes
(updated 9-25-07)

Polyhabitat has partnered with SLO County Habitat for Humanity to build four houses since the club's inception. The first three houses are located in Paso Robles and the last house was completed in Cambria in 2006. SLO Co. HFH has big plans for ramping up building efforts over the next few years, so make sure to stick around!

Atascadero - Traffic Way:

The SLO affiliate is currently slated to start construction of four three-bedroom units on a single lot in Atascadero starting hopefully within a November time frame. We will be working with the local HFH office to coordinate some volunteers from Cal Poly to particate in the construction in any ways possible.

Cambria - Alban Place:

ReStore
(updated 9-25-07)
We are glad to announce that SLO Habitat recently opened up another ReStore site to serve more of the needs of South SLO County. It is located at 784 High St. in the city of San Luis Obispo, making it much more accessible for Cal Poly students to check it out. The North County ReStore warehouse is located in Templeton off of the 101.

ReStore functions as an "urban recycling center;" all items on sale are donated and profits benefit SLOHFH. The Re-Store warehouse is a second-hand and surplus building materials collection center. Some materials, instead of being sold, are used in the construction of Habitat houses.

Typical jobs for PolyHabitat volunteers include: helping customers find and move items for purchase, unloading donations as they are brought in, and organizing items for display and easier access. Volunteers are always appreciated and can work any length of time during business hours. Send us an email if you're interested in volunteering or simply want to know more about getting involved.
