Cal Poly
UU Epicenter Box 434
San Luis Obispo, CA 93410

PolyHabitat is open
to all majors at the University. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of every month in room (TBD) on campus.
Membership is not required to attend the meetings and everyone is
always welcome.
Started in 2000
on the campus of California Polytechnic State
University in San Luis Obispo, PolyHabitat has made an
effect on low income housing on the Central Coast.
Projects all over the county range from multi-bedroom
family houses to the ReStore in Templeton.
The ReStore functions as an "urban recycling center" that
benefits San Luis Obispo
Habitat for Humanity and PolyHabitat volunteers work where needed.
Every year PolyHabitat also participates in Habitat for Humanity's
Collegiate Challenge (official site). Collegiate
Challenge is a US-based program that organizes group work-trips
for college and high school students during academic breaks. While
summer, fall, and winter break trips are available, the primary
focus of the program is Spring Break; last year roughly 9000 students
participated over their Spring Break and 1100 more took part in
trips during the rest of the year, according to Habitat for Humanity
International. To find out how to be a part of Collegiate Challenge,
go to Collegiate Challenge (our site) section. |
